If you've ever been to a rock concert, you know that music can be as annoying as it is. The loudest of modern concert acoustic systems can override 130 decibels (DB). That's higher than the swamp threshold (125 Db). If airport staff who work on the airstrips took off their protective headphones, they would have heard the 130th DB - about how much Boeing 747 would give up.
